Grove Green Market
The Grove Green Market is located in the parking lot of the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami-Dade county. The Grove Market was named the "Best Farmers Market in Miami" by the Newtimes in the summer of 2014. This weekly event is open from 2pm- 8pm on Thursdays and is closed for the summer. Come for a stroll around the booths and find local treasures like organic goods up to the occaisional emu egg! About 40 different vendors can be found every week with ninety-five percent of the vendors growing crops on land within 35 miles of the Grove. Purchase local honey, jams, olive oil, grass-fed beef, seafood, spices, and fresh baked goods. Pick up all the fresh goods you need for the upcoming week from perfectly picked ripe tomatoes to fresh juicy oranges. The entire family, even the family dog, are welcome to come out to enjoy live music and support local businesses and farmers.
The venue for this market is the Coconut Grove Playhouse which was closed in 2006 due to falling under substantial debt. This historic landmark remains closed however the county may soon have plans for the building since aquiring it from the State of Florida.
