Miccosukee Indian Village

Miccosukee is a historical, small unincorporated community in southwest Miami-Dade county off Tamiami Trail. The Miccosukee tribe of Indians holds family oriented events allowing residents and tourists to enjoy fun, educational and cultural experiences. People of Miccosukee speak English though they have a native language Mikasuki. 

Miccosukee resort and gaming

For families interested in gaming while vacationing, Miccosukee is an excellent destination. The resort feels like Las Vegas or South Beach. Gaming services include pull-tab machines, poker tables, lightning lotto and bingo halls.

There is Club Egret for kids that even can accommodate newborns. You need not worry about kids being left alone or getting bored because it is well managed. There are activities like water aerobics, interactive video games, nature hikes and indoor games that are supervised. Kids have so much fun that parents have to literally drag them out.

Miccosukee Indian Museum

The museum gives you a glimpse of the tribe’s way of life and reflects their history. There are photos of the past generations elaborating the attire they used to wear. There are also numerous works of art by local artists. To be appreciated also, are the colorful native paintings and handcrafted sculptures. There are displays from woodcarving, bead work, basket weaving, patchwork and doll weaving. This place is indeed culturally rich. 

Airboat rides 

An airboat ride through the Everglades which are awe- inspiring is a cool adventure. You will have a trip through the river of grass. You will stop at the Miccosukee camp. It is said that the camp has been in existence over a 100 years.  Stay and enjoy the alligator demonstrations held throughout the day.
