Charles Hadley Park & Aquatic Complex

South Florida is home to many aquatic sites. Just in the City of Miami, there are twelve of these aquatic sites and one of the twelve is the Charles Hadley Aquatic Complex. Located at 4800 NW 12 Ave., Miami, Florida, this aquatic complex boasts three pools: an Olympic-sized pool (50 meters), a 33-meter pool and a wading pool for toddlers. Charles Hadley Aquatic Complex is really a swimmer's dream come true, but, for those who are not so comfortable in the water, do not fret!

Palm Springs North Pool

The Miami-Dade County area is hot pretty much the entire year. At Palm Springs North Pool, the pool and splash playground are open year-round to the public.  The Palm Springs North Park & Pool is located within the Norman & Jean Reach Park.  The pool is also referred to as the Norman & Jean Reach Pool. Amenities are offered for all ages, from the very young to the elderly. Safety is the top priority, therefore many lifeguards are on duty every day.

North Pointe Community Center

The new family-friendly North Pointe Community Center in Miami-Dade County, FL., is a great place to go for a family day out with the kids. With a wide range of activities on offer, including a massive splash playground with slides, jets, water cannons and rain curtains it's a great place to cool off! It also has a leisure pool for actual swimming if you get tired of just splashing, and a huge swimming complex with showers and public lockers, and a snack bar, for when you need to recharge after all that fun in the water.

Gwen Cherry Park

Gwen Cherry Park in Miami-Dade County was named after Gwen Cherry, the first African-American woman to ever be elected to the Florida Legislature. This park is the park for the sports enthusiasts and the youth of the city. The park really works hard to reach out to the community with its various sports programs like a Pop Warner Youth League and the Boys and Girls Club of Miami.

Highland Oaks Park

The Highland Oaks Park in the northern Miami-Dade County houses one of the last remaining freshwater wetlands located at the headwaters of the renowned Oleta River. It is the only natural river remaining in the Miami-Dade County. The Highland Oaks Park is a huge park with a number of open fields. It is a favorite place for the athletes. The park also has boardwalks that are accessible by all, a fishing dock and trails. The most popular trails include the Black Oak Barren Trail & Spring Lake Trail.

Sun Life Stadium

The Sun Life Stadium is a sport and recreational stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. This stadium located in north Miami-Dade county was constructed with a cost of $115 million and opened on August 16, 1987.  It was over-hauled in 2007 at a cost of $250 million.  It is owned by Stephen Rose and Wayne Huizenga and operated by the Miami Dolphins.

Blue Moon Outdoor Center

The Blue Moon Outdoor Center is located with the Oleta River State Park in North Miami Beach. Kayak or canoe around the beautiful Biscayne Bay with crystal clear water, manatees, and dolphins to enjoy. Need a bit more of a full-body workout? Take out one of the stand-up paddleboards (SUP) with a map in hand and explore the peaceful mangrove trails that border the bay. If the weather is nice, rent bikes and take them along trails around Oleta River Park.

Arch Creek Park and Museum

Body

Arch Creek Park and Museum is located in the city of North Miami just west of Biscayne Blvd. This historic park was once inhabited by several Native American tribes that lived in ancient Florida.  The oldest known tribe, the now extinct Tequesta, once made this natural stone arch their base along a popular native trail.  Artifacts from these ancient peoples were discovered on the property and preserved in a small museum along with objects left by early Florida pioneers.
