There is much more to Robbie's of Islamorada than just the tarpon feeding off the dock but for affordability and the fun factor this wins out as one of the top things to do with the kids in the Keys. For about $4 you can gain access to the dock ($1) and get a bucket of bait fish ($3) to feed the tarpon. Your kids will be delighted and amazed by these creatures and get a real kick out of feeding them.
If you want to add to your day out in the Keys, Robbie's also offers fishing trips, boat rentals and snorkelling tours. Check out their recent catches to get the kids excited before heading out on a fishing trip with their expert trophy-holding guides. Boats that accomodate 4-8 people can be rented for the full day or a half day after taking a short Boater's Safety Course. Their Happy Cat catamaran takes out snorkellers 4 times a day 7 days a week. The boat is tequipped with a bathroom and a fresh-water rinse shower. You may bring a cooler with your own goodies aboard or purchase snacks, soda or beer while on the trip.
