Picnic shelters and pavilions that provide seating for groups of various sizes. Usually reserved and rented for a fee. They may have grills, electricity and water.
Pavilions
Palmetto Greens Linear Park
This park was created mainly as a bicycle trail along a newly formed canal. It's a 1/3 mile bicycle trail with bathrooms and a playground. This could be a good place to start young bike riders that is not such a formidable distance and without worries about car traffic. It is just east of Wilson Park and Poinciana Elementary School. The main entrance with the playground is at the intersection of Railroad and 13th avenue. There are also some spots designated for fishing with the mono-filament disposal sites available at the park.
Intracoastal Park
A unique feature of Intracoastal Park is its access for non-motorized vessel launching; swimming is not permitted in the pond or in the Intracoastal Waterway. A Veterans Memorial by the city of Boynton Beach is located at the entrance to the park. A 1/3-mile concrete path winds around a small lake with a floating fountain. Amenities include BBQ grills, benches, pavilions, and restrooms. The Clubhouse at Intracoastal Park opened in September 2007.
PGA National Park
PGA National Park is a large, very popular 35 acre park just off Northlake Blvd. It is surrounded by water and was originally part of the 1985 PGA National development. It has since been renovated and includes a fully accessible play area. Bring along your fishing rod and fish off the little dock or use the spacious pavilions for your next get-together! There are three large multi-purpose fields that are great for soccer, lacrosse, tackle/flag football, or what ever you can dream up.
Oaks Park
Oaks Park in Palm Beach Gardens has a hard clay exercise jogging trail, large party pavilions, and some lighted tennis courts. Close to the Gardens Hospital and St. Mark's school, this is a small neighborhood park that is perfect for a little bit of outdoor recreation. It is almost 12 acres of park and the walking trail is mostly shaded. Be aware that there are no restroom facilities.
Mirasol Park
This park is truly hidden! It is in odd spot on "Jog Road"--not to be confused with the main North/South artery in south county--it is a road that twists and turns in a roundabout into an East/West road. Great little park to hold a little one's birthday party because there are pavillions and a nice playground. It's actually in the entrance to the MIRASOL housing development on PGA Blvd.
Lilac Park & Dog Run
Set back from the main drag of Military Trail in a suburban area of Palm Beach Gardens is the Lilac Park. The park was completed in conjunction with the Palm Beach County School District for their needs but is open to the public. Lilac Park has many new facilities. The park features a new double-sized multipurpose field, playgrounds, 2 picnic pavilions,exercise trail and restroom facilities. City Park
City Park in Palm Beach Gardens is located at the end of the road and across from the tennis center. This municipal park has tons of space for Raquetball, basketball and tennis. There is a short nature trail thru the forest area but, otherwise, not much shade at this park. The park contains a picnic pavilion, restrooms, small playground, basketball courts, handball courts, two hard surface tennis courts, bicycle path, exercise trail and a 0.25 mile nature trail.
Robert P. Miller Park
Robert P. Miller Park in Delray Beach is comprised of six lighted little league fields, one soccer field, one multipurpose field, three concession stands, three press boxes, restrooms, pavilion and a playground area. It is the home of "Little Fenway" a replica of Fenway Park and it's "Green Monster" in Boston, Massachusetts. Miller Park is also the headquarters of the Bucky Dent Baseball School. Pompey Park and Recreation Center
Pompey Park is named after long-time Delray Beach resident C. Spencer Pompey and covers 17.5 acres of land.
Lake Ida Dog Park and Lake Ida West
This 189+ acre (including water acreage) park is run by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. It has been equipped with brand new fully-accessible play equipment over artificial turf surrounded by a large field, pavilions, and a bathroom. The area for dogs is separate and fenced. There's a nice path along the lake perfect for a stroll or bike ride. There is ample parking for both cars and boats. The boat ramp and freshwater fishing pier are located in the middle of the park.
