Joseph C. Carter Park is located just east of I-95 off the Sunrise Blvd exit on the south side of the road.  This 21.6 acre Fort Lauderdale park has so much to offer.  It is most popular for its large lighted athletic facilities for football, track, baseball, tennis, and basketball.  J.C. Carter Park now has new pickle ball courts and raquetball to enjoy. There is an indoor gymnsasium, annex, social center, and recreation center.  Families and groups can rent pavilions located throughout the park.

During games a concession is open to enjoy snacks and beverages.  Bring your own goodies and enjoy a picnic at the many picnic areas with grills as well.  The children can play in the open play areas or playgrounds.  Bring your swimsuit and enter the Carter Park Pool and Water Playground areas for FREE.  They also offer for a fee various programs for children and families to learn to swim or exercise.  All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied with an adult.  The pool and water playground are open seasonally so they are usually closed between late November and late March.  Park hours are 5 am to 11pm daily.
