Sea Turtle Day
The Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton will be sponsoring a fun-filled 13th Annual Turtle Day! This annual event is a big hit with locals and tourists alike. Come and celebrate the sea turtle and learn about its life and its habitat. Visit some of the sea turtles receiving care for various illnesses and injuries. There will be aquarium feedings at the multiple large open air aquariums filled with barracuda, sting rays and various other fish. Volunteers will be leading guided tours of the Hammock and giving Animal Presentations. Live animal presentations, face painting, aquarium feedings, children’s theater, guided boardwalk tours, kids crafts, awesome booths, and more will be available throughout the day. All of the wonderful trails, the observation tower and butterfly garden that people enjoy year round at Gumbo Limbo will also be available to enjoy!

- Shipwreck Aquarium - 2:45 pm
Try out kayaks or paddle boards with Island Water Sports on a fun, short course in the Intracoastal Waterway behind Gumbo Limbo. Beginners welcome. Sign up in advance at the Activity Sales Tent located near the main entrance. There is a fee of $10 per person for this program, and space is limited (cash/credit cards accepted). Ages 12 and up; children 12-17 must sign-up and participate with an adult.
IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION:
There is no parking at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center the day of the event or the day before. Free parking and shuttle buses are available in Spanish River Park, just north of Gumbo Limbo on A1A. Shuttles will run from 8:45 AM - 4:30 PM. A map of the parking lot and bus stops can be viewed here. Limited handicapped parking is available in front of Gumbo Limbo (adjacent to the sign) and in Red Reef West.
Drop offs/pick-ups are not permitted in front of Gumbo Limbo during the festival. If you are using ride share or must drop someone off, please do in Red Reef West and they can walk up the sidewalk, or in Spanish River Park where they can ride the shuttle. Due to boardwalk construction, the boardwalk may be closed. If you park at Red Reef West, use the sidewalk along A1A to join the festival.
