The Schoolhouse Children’s Museum & Learning Center will hold its annual Spooktacular: Haunted Schoolhouse. The haunted house is one of the Museum’s most popular special events attracting thousands of visitors and is held during Boynton Beach's Pirates and Mermaid Fest.

Kick-off the holiday season as boaters from all around Palm Beach County decorate their boats and for the annual Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade!

Bridge Openings:

Set against the magnificent backdrop of Fort Lauderdale Beach, the Friday Night Sound Waves Live Music Series takes place Friday Night, March 16 – November 2 from 6pm – 9pm where the Beach meets the Boulevard at Las Olas and A1A.   Friday Night Sound Waves Live Music Series will return to the Hub, located at Las Olas Boulevard and A1A.  Free to the public and geared toward area locals, global visitors, the young and the young-at-heart, you are welcome to slide off your shoes and slip into the weekend with on the beach every Friday n

Looking for a fun science project to take home? Drop in for a Make and Take every month! There's always a new project to try out, so check back to see what's coming up this month. No registration necessary. Program will run for approximately 1 hour, or until supplies run out.

Back for its second year, Hollyweird Halloween features family friendly entertainment from 6-9pm, including trick or treating, live music, candy stations, playground, magic show, balloon twisters, face painting, and a children's costume contest with prizes. From 9pm - 2am, the party continues with live bands, outdoor bars and adult costume contests with prizes.

T.Y. Park in Hollywood will participate in the Campfire & Hayrides series presented by teh Broward County Parks Department.  The cost for this event is $3.50+sales tax per person ages 3 and up.  The fee includes one hayride and one bag of fixings for s’mores. Make some sweet memories with the family while the weather is pleasant.  Preregistration and prepayment are required by calling or visiting the park.  

This year Quiet Waters Park (954-357-5100) will host Barktoberfest as the K9 Splash Adventure event, October 6 and 7. Activities run from 8 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. and include doggie splash time, rescue and nonprofit groups, adoptions, Doggie Market Place, kiddie bounce houses, face painting, and costume contest. Admission is free, although some activities may entail nominal fees, and there is a $5/dog fee for 50-minute sessions in the water.

The dog days of summer may be long gone by October, but you can still pamper your pooches during the lingering heat of a South Florida fall by letting them frolic at a water park on dogs-only days.   The two K9 Water Festivals will be held at Castaway Island at T.Y. Park in Hollywood.
