Bay Jam
Come out to the beautiful Islamorada Founders Park for one of the best outdoor music festivals in the Florida Keys. Bay Jam was started years ago as an event to promote the Arts in local schools. Artists perform and proceeds go to benefit local students in the form of scholarships and tickets to arts perfromances ($180,000 in proceeds from events were given for art, music and dance scholarships). Guests also bring in canned foods to get in which benefits local food banks. Feel good that your money goes toward a good cause and groove to the music by the water.
The fun starts at noon and runs until 8pm on Sunday. In the past almost a dozen local and national musicians have performed from a large range of musical genres. The amphitheater is located on the Florida Bay and aside from stunning backdrops at sunset, it also provides ample seating and space for the kids to run around or dance. If the kids need a break there's the beach and playground nearby as well as a municipal pool. There's no problem with staying cool. Beer and wine as well as delectable foods will be available for purchase.
Who has performed in the past?
Uproot Hootenanny -- mix of folk, rock, pop, Celtic, bluegrass and country music
20 WT -- ska, roots reggae and groove metal
Scott Youngberg -- "Trop-Americana" style album
David Feder -- “Hillbilly Flamenco"
