Ocean Inlet Park
The Boynton Inlet is a surf side paradise of sun and sand. A long time spot for fishing and family play. The Boynton Inlet has a 600 ft beach, jetties for fishing, marina, a playground for the kids, a short walking path and a pavilion for the picnickers.
If you visit the inlet in the later part of the year, October, November, its a good chance you'll find fishermen pulling in lots of fish. This draw is great for the kids who like to get close to nature. If the fish aren't biting, walk over to the playground and let the kids burn off some steam.
Bexley Trail Community Park
Bexley Trail Community Park in Delray Beach is a 11.2 acre park with 4 picnic pavilions, playground, parking lot, nature/walking trail, bike rack, a large open field space, and barbecue grills. Pavilions can be rented for your event. Call contact number for further details. Special note: NO bathrooms! The trail is a short mulched walk thru typical Florida fauna where gopher turtles, butterflies, snakes and birds can be spotted.
Lake Catherine Park
Lake Catherine Park is located on east side MacArthur Boulevard just north of Northlake Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens. The picturesque lakeside half mile red dirt jogging trail takes a loop around this park. Plenty of shade trees are along the trail but there are spots without shade so be sure to be prepared. Right across the street is the Lake Catherine Sports complex with the all-important restroom facilities as well as play area and sports fields.
Forest Hills Park
This park is tucked up against a barrier wall for I-95. It has a small parking area and is pretty deep into it's surrounding neighborhood. When you turn into the neighborhood, keep all the way alongside I-95 and you can't miss it. The gate for the fenced in area is located close to the exit onto the street so be sure to keep a close eye on children playing. The park stretches out from the playground into a shaded open area. Quiet and secluded so be aware of your surroundings when visiting this neighborhood recreation area.
Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park
Burt Aaronson South County Regional is a huge park in northwest Boca Raton maintained by Palm Beach County. Remember to pay attention driving amongst the attractions because it is easy to get turned around in this massive park. Burt Aaronson Park includes almost 900 acres of recreation. South County Regional Park is definitely the gem of Palm Beach County's park system and one of the most comprehensive leisure destinations in the State!
Catherine Strong Park
The park's main features are a splash park, playground and two full basketball courts along with large rental pavilions for family parties. The "Sports Field Pavilion" is located near the tennis courts, fitness trail, and sports field for soccer, flag football and volleyball. The "Splash Park Pavilion" is located near the splash park itself. Catherine Strong Park offers tennis, basketball and a fitness trail at a leisure level. For your meditative lunch pleasures, the park has an elegant shady ficus tree lined with benches along a walking path.
Lilac Park & Dog Run
Set back from the main drag of Military Trail in a suburban area of Palm Beach Gardens is the Lilac Park. The park was completed in conjunction with the Palm Beach County School District for their needs but is open to the public. Lilac Park has many new facilities. The park features a new double-sized multipurpose field, playgrounds, 2 picnic pavilions,exercise trail and restroom facilities. Galaxy Park
This park is adjacent to the Galaxy Elementary School parking lot right on Boynton Beach Blvd east of I-95. You can see it from Boynton Beach Blvd but there is NO ENTRANCE there. You need to go further east to NW 4th Street and head north. You then head back toward I-95 on 4th ave which turns into Galaxy Way. They just recently re-did the playground and it is very colorful and inviting. Lighted areas of the park are open until 10pm otherwise it's sun up to sun down hours for the rest of the park.
John Prince Memorial Park
Picower Super Park within John Prince Park is one of the main draws to this central Palm Beach County facility in central Lake Worth. Recently created, the Picower Super park has a large barrier free splash area and multiple ability/age play equipment in a fenced area with restrooms. This county run regional park has about 726.36 acres (includes 338 lake acres). There's a popular campground and everything from walking trails, kayaking, golfing to bocce, basketball, volleyball and tennis.
Gulfstream Park
Gulfstream Park is located on A1A near the border of Delray Beach and Boynton Beach. The playground equipment was recently updated and the sand surface was replaced. The new equipment is marked for ages 5-12. Children under the recommended age need to be closely supervised. The playground is within a close walk of the picnic areas and the beach access. Restrooms and showers are also conveniently located. The beach is guarded.
