EcoAction Workdays
Help out your local ecosystem on the second Saturday of the month on an EcoAction Workday at Secret Woods Nature Center, 9 a.m. Volunteers clean up trash, plant native plants, and/or remove non-native invasive plants. Students can earn community service hours for graduation and college scholarships, and others can help improve and preserve the environment. Volunteers should dress appropriately with long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty. Participants should bring gloves, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water.
Extra tools such as shovels, rakes, and hand pruners are welcome. A volunteer form must be filled out in order to participate. Free.
Hike our trails and pick up litter, plant native trees, remove exotic plants, or maintain our geocaches and letterboxes. Feeling crafty? Design and create signs, decorations, and games for our upcoming programs. Need community service hours to graduate? We'll customize a program tailored to your interests and schedule. Contact the Friends of Secret Woods at or call at 954-357-8884.
