KID Duck Fest Derby

Join in this special event that benefits Kids in Distress in Fort Lauderdale.  The goal is to raise about $63,000 to benefit the K.I.D. Foster homes and programming.  K.I.D. operate homes in Broward & Palm Beach counties.  

The K.I.D. Duck Fest Derby is a great day for the whole family, and this year we’re celebrating 11 years of rubber ducky fun! Flock to Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale from 12-3 PM for a wide range of family-friendly activities at the KID Fun Zone including:

Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown

The Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown has been touted as one of the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations in Florida, this year’s free street festival is full of fun and excitement for both children and adults. The spectacular celebration will feature a variety of activities for the whole family until 8:30 p.m. including a kids countdown at 7:00 p.m. The festivities for kids include bounce houses/inflatables, face painting and games, contests and dancing with the DJ. Then live music kicks off at 8:00 p.m.

Lynn University Family Fun Day

Now in its 12th year, Lynn University's Family Fun Day has truly become a can't-miss outing for families that live in South Florida. This award-winning event, was created to support the NCAA's Division II Community Engagement initiative. Through this event, Lynn's athletics department has created an open-house that allows kids and families the opportunity to visit a college campus, meet and engage with our student-athletes, coaches, staff and faculty, and experience a full-day of free, family fun.

First-Ever Public Transit Day

This December, ditch your car (for a day). To build upon the steps that Miami’s leaders are taking to strengthen our public transit system, two social-entrepreneurs, Rebecca Fishman Lipsey of Radical Partners and Marta Viciedo of Urban Impact Lab, are teaming up to engage locals in solutions. Fishman-Lipsey and Viciedo are declaring Friday, December 9 as “Public Transit Day” and are urging public officials, community leaders, and residents to take the pledge to use public transportation for the day.

Boating for Breast Cancer

Fort Lauderdale’s most eclectic water taxi company, the Fort Lauderdale Water Shuttle, known for its hot pink boats adorned with pink flamingos, is utilizing its “pink” presence to help a Fort Lauderdale-based nonprofit kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Water Shuttle will host “Boating for Breast Cancer” on Saturday, October 1, 2016 and donate 100 percent of daily ticket sales to Gilda’s Club South Florida!

Hollyweird Halloween Block Party

Back for its second year, Hollyweird Halloween features family friendly entertainment from 6-9pm, including trick or treating, live music, candy stations, playground, magic show, balloon twisters, face painting, and a children's costume contest with prizes.
