When the temperature starts to rise and you feel like it's just too hot to be walking around the zoo, Safari Nights starts at the Palm Beach Zoo.  The zoo closes and then re-opens to welcome families to a fun, cooler, less sunny experience with the animals.  Friday evenings from 4:30 to 9 pm the zoo will offer discounted admission, free carousel rides and special programming.  Each Friday will offer different animal encounters, wildlife shows, live music and giveaways (like a zoo prize pack worth $150).  The Tropics Cafe will offer a special dinner menu to purchase so you can plan to come out after work and spend the entire evening at the zoo.  Bring your change of clothes and swimwear so that the kids can enjoy a nighttime splash in the lit interactive fountain. Some Fridays will have a theme and if you dress up you can be entered to win a grand prize.  Other activities have included arts & crafts in the Florida Pioneer House, face painting and disco dance parties around the fountain.  Safari Nights start in June and run through the summer until August.
