Lantern Light Festival
According to Cultural China, the Lantern Festival, also called Shangyuan Festival, is celebrated on January 15 of the Chinese lunar calendar. The tradition of appreciating lanterns during the Lantern Festival originates from the Eastern Han Dynasty, which has a bearing on the introduction of Buddhism into China at that time. Pinnacle Production has brought this spectacular Lantern Art Festival to the United States keeping the old traditional Chinese culture and adding additional Lantern Art culture from all over the world.
The Lantern Art Festival is a huge light show, Bigger, Better, and more beautiful than your traditional light show you have ever seen. The lanterns are crafted by artist from China who have been creating Lantern Artwork 80 generations, in layman terms 2000 years! It typically takes four weeks and seven artists to develop one Lantern!
Some Lanterns are 30 feet high; others are shaped like a 150-foot fire-breathing dragon, Taj Mahal lantern buildings, Statue of Liberty and huge Lantern animals from monkeys hanging on trees and tigers in the hiding in the bush. Sometimes these Lantern Artist even build entire cities out of Lanterns - like New York City and Rome.
There are many exotic and unusual things to buy at the Lantern event which make wonderful souvenirs and gifts for relatives, friends and your children. From: Silk, Tea, Poreclian, Handicrafts, Jades, Paintings, Masks, Lanterns Calligraphies, and more... Watch as Chinese Acrobats balance and perform amazing stunts. Enjoy fair rides and food too!
