Florida Keys Wild Bird Center

For the bird watcher in all of us the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center is a sanctuary for native and migratory birds. It's mission, to rescue, rehab, and release birds that have been harmed or displaced. As a public service this establishment also aims to educate the importance of this conservation effort. Visitors enjoy a boardwalk stroll to stop at various aviaries along the way. With species like the Broad Winged Hawk, Turkey Vultes, a Horned and Barred Owel, Pelicans and much more, you are sure to be inspired by these wonderful creatures.

City Place

City Place is a popular shopping and entertainment area in downtown West Palm Beach.  It is located just east of the Kravis Performing Arts Center and south of Okeechobee Blvd.  City Place plays host to several quality family entertainment and events with Family Festivals, concerts and holiday fun like nightly snowfall in December.

Peanut Island

Body

Peanut Island was begun as a small 10 acres island that was a product of dredging done in the Intracoastal back in 1918.  Over the years, further dredging and deposits have grown the island to over 80 acres!  A recent project in Lake Worth to produce the new Snook Islands utilized fill from this island.  This island has a historic tie to John F. Kennedy from the time of the Cuban Missle Crisis.  His bunker, as well as a Maritime Museum, can be found on the island.

Loggerhead Marine Life Center

Loggerhead Marine Life Center is located in within a 70 acres beachfront county park of the same name.  This Marine Life Center is a crucial place for education and preservation of sea turtles.   The park features fishing, nature trails, guarded beach front, and playgrounds.  The Marine Life Center is home to a sea turtle hospital and offers many educational opportunities.  They host guided tours and even can be a birthday party venue.

Okeeheelee Nature Center

Okeeheelee Nature Center features 2.5 miles of trails winding through 90 acres of pine flatwoods and wetlands. Highlights of the center include hands-on exhibits, animal encounters and a nature related gift shop. Marvel at birds of prey, touch a live snake or prowl for owls during one of the many programs scheduled throughout the year for families, youth and adults. Exhibits: ECOSYSTEMS of PALM BEACH COUNTY Leaves seem to crunch underfoot as you walk by Clyde Butcher's life-size image of a hardwood hammock.
