Wynwood Walls

Wynwood Walls in Miami, Florida is a unique experience which brings art to the warehouse district. The project was brought to life in 2009 by Tony Goldman of Goldman Properties. The idea was to bring the greatest street art to one place and increase the pedestrian traffic in the area. This company is known around the South Florida area for finding and renovating properties with declining value. The Wynwood Walls appeal to art fans whether they’re from the local area, or tourists from all over. The project brought in some of the best graffiti and street artists into Miami, creating a beautiful and impactful exhibit.

Wynwood Walls started with the 25th-26th street complex, which was composed of six separate buildings, all without windows. It’s located on NW Second Ave between Joey’s Café’ on 25th and ends at Wynwood Kitchen and Bar on 26th. Since then, over 80 artists from around the world have turned over 80,000 square-feet of buildings into an outdoor art extravaganza.

The exhibit has become a favorite of visitors and is annually ranked a must do in the Miami area. Customer reviews on sites like Yelp, regularly give this place top reviews. There are guided tours available, which provide a history of the art and introduce the public to who the artists are. Now known as the world’s only outdoor museum, the Wynwood Walls is one of the most beautiful areas in South Florida, and the United States. If you are planning a trip to Miami, and have an interest in art, this is one stop everyone should make, as it is one of the most special places to see. Even if you don’t consider yourself an art fan, you can enjoy the craftsmanship that has taken place here. The Wynwood Walls are so colorful and full of life, a vibrant improvement to a once dilapidated and under used location.

The Wynwood Walls are open to the public free of charge. Several cafes, juice bars, studios and galleries have popped up in the area to enjoy.

**Getting Around** Parking is either street parking using the "PayByPhone" app or via valet which can also be pre-paid. See photos for details. Segway, bike and bus tours are offered through the area with Bike & Roll Miami or BigBus companies. Citibank has bikes for rent in multiple spots around the Walls. Many people bring their children to this once forboding area. We would not recommend families stay in the area after dark.
