The city of Miami is known for its nightlife and white, sandy beaches, but there's more beauty in the Magic City to be seen. Colonial Drive Park is one of Miami's best kept secrets. If a simple walk around the park is not what you and your family are interested in, how about a fun game of some sort?  With basketball, baseball, football fields and a tennis court, there has to be at least one activity to motivate you to get out of the house on the weekend and enjoy yourself out about in the sun?

The Camp Owaissa Bauer is considered one of the hidden treasures of Miami-Dade Country Parks & Recreation. A nice getaway from the hectic city life, this campsite is located in Homestead, Florida, United States. The park itself is built on a 110 acre area and contains plenty of trails that teach both children and adults interesting facts about the ecology/geology of The Sunshine State. It's equipped with vast facilities to house up to 160 campers overnight or for prolonged periods of time.

Gwen Cherry Park in Miami-Dade County was named after Gwen Cherry, the first African-American woman to ever be elected to the Florida Legislature. This park is the park for the sports enthusiasts and the youth of the city. The park really works hard to reach out to the community with its various sports programs like a Pop Warner Youth League and the Boys and Girls Club of Miami.

Deerwood Bonita Lakes Park is a nice 11 acre park in Miami Dade County with a lot of great sports amenities for the whole family. This park really embraces the community that surrounds it, which makes it a sweet and safe neighborhood park. This park used to be called Deerwood Park and was renamed for the neighboring community of Deerwood Bonita Lakes.

Do you want a place to get away and enjoy some recreational time outdoors for free? Check out Crestwood Park in Royal Palm Beach! Crestwood Park is 4.5 acres of prime public real estate. With palm trees aplenty Crestwood Park is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely afternoon reading and napping in the shade or meeting up with friends to have a cookout and play some lawn games. Bring your dog! Crestwood Park has a dog friendly section where your four-legged friend can stretch his legs and catch some frisbees.

The West Boynton Park and Recreation Center (a.k.a. Park Vista Park) located at 6000 Northtree Boulevard Lake Worth Florida, on 47.12 acres is a premier district parks and recreation center. West Boynton outdoor facilities are open from sunrise to sunset with lighted court facilities continuing until 9:00 pm and with a permit, lighted field facilities until 10:00 pm daily.

 Ira Van Bullock Park in Greenacres, Florida, offers many family-friendly amenities. Do you ever feel up for a game of basketball? The two lighted courts found here allow you to watch, or play, after the sun goes down. Two baseball fields, also lighted, can be found here as well--it's where Palm Beach County children and youth play in their Little League games. The gazebo is a great place to sit and read a book; it's location offers a wonderful outlook to the entire park, giving it a relaxing atmosphere.

The Vivian A. Ferrin Park in Royal Palm Beach was named in honor and memory of a great leader known as Vivian Albert Ferrin to which this facility was dedicated to his great and incredible public service. In an area of about 7.5 acres, the Vivian A. Ferrin is a public park which is largely geared towards sports and various recreational activities.

The Cabana Colony Park is a family friendly park located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The park which sits on a 1.64 acre piece of land is a one stop place for the entire family thanks to its wide range of activities and attractions. When visiting this park, you can decide to let your children play in the playground. The good thing about these playgrounds is the fact that they have play structures perfectly fitted with safety amenities for children aged between 2-12 years.
