Easterlin Park in central Broward county is conveniently located just west of I-95 between Commercial and Oakland Park Blvd.  The park is a great place to enjoy native Florida environment and still take a jaunt over to the beach.  Some of the trees at this 46+ acre park are almost 250 years old.  The park has a popular campground that can accomodate 45 RVs and has 10 tent sites.  Primitive camping can be reserved for non-profit groups to enjoy.  Most sites have water, electricity, fire pits, and picnic tables.  Four of the tent sites do not have water nor electricity.  Two restrooms with hot-water showers are located inside of the campground.  Pets are allowed with a maximum of 2 dogs per site.  Oakland Bark dog park is within walking distance of Easterlin.  The camp site is within a wooded area so there is plenty of shade however there is a train track nearby so early morning/late night noise is a factor.  Some children probably would get a kick out of hearing the train rushing by but adults may regret loss of beauty sleep.  

While at the park, you can take a hike through a 1-mile horse shoe shaped trail through native woodlands.  There is plenty of flora and wildlife to enjoy including bald cypress trees,  pond apple, bromeliads, gopher tortoises (look for large holes in the ground), and various birds.  If you are a fan of Geocaching, this park is a popular place to come and do your GPS treasure hunting.   There is a wheelchair accessible playground that is fully shaded. The park also has an 18-hole disc-golf course and rents other sports equipment.  Picnic tables and grills are scattered within the park and one medium sized pavilion for events may be rented.
