The Fort Lauderdale Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown has been touted as one of the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations in Florida, this year’s free street festival is full of fun and excitement for both children and adults. The spectacular celebration will feature a variety of activities for the whole family until 8:30 p.m. including a kids countdown at 7:00 p.m. The festivities for kids include bounce houses/inflatables, face painting and games, contests and dancing with the DJ. Then live music kicks off at 8:00 p.m.

Annual Taste of the Islands

The 19th Annual Taste of the Islands event will be held in Marathon on November 12th from 11am to 5pm.  Taste of the Islands is an annual fundraiser for BPW (Business & Professional Women of Marathon) The event showcases local food, art, & entertainment. Hosted by the Marathon chapter of Business and Professional Women, the award-winning event draws several thousand attendees and features local restaurants, live entertainment, vendors and artists, a tribute to veterans, fashion show by DK's Style Hut, activities for kids plus live and Chinese auctions.

Lynn University Family Fun Day

Now in its 12th year, Lynn University's Family Fun Day has truly become a can't-miss outing for families that live in South Florida. This award-winning event, was created to support the NCAA's Division II Community Engagement initiative. Through this event, Lynn's athletics department has created an open-house that allows kids and families the opportunity to visit a college campus, meet and engage with our student-athletes, coaches, staff and faculty, and experience a full-day of free, family fun.

Salute to Heroes Week

In recognition of their service to our country, “Salute to Heroes” Week offers all veterans, active duty military, police, fire, law enforcement and EMT personnel free admission to Miami Seaquarium from Saturday, November 5th through Sunday, November 13th. Annual 'Reason to Run' 5K To Raise Funds for Pediatric Cancer Research

The ninth annual “Reason to Run” 5K run/walk and family event benefitting CancerFree KIDS Pediatric Cancer Research Alliance will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Deering Estate, 16701 S.W. 72 Avenue, Miami at 8 a.m. On-site registration and check-in will begin at 7 a.m. The registration fee is $30 for adults before October 28. The fee increases to $40 thereafter.

The city of Fort Lauderdale would like to treat your family to a whole lot of Fall fun at their annual Fall Fest at Mills Pond Park.   This event will take place on October 20nd from 3-6 p.m.  Learn about and even join a local Girl Scout troup at this event.  The fun includes hay rides, arts and crafts, face painting and pumpkin decorating.  Old fashioned Fall fun is on tap at this FREE family-friendly event.

Dia De Los Muertos Lake Worth

The Day of the Dead will be celebrated this year in Lakw Worth, Palm Beach County.  Enjoy some of the traditional activities celebrated in Mexico for this special holiday right here in South Florida.  There will be a procession and several  ofrendas (alters for the deceased) at this event.  OFrendas typically will have various traditional symbols on them and honor specfic deceased. Look for marigolds, sugar skulls, and personal mementos of the deceased.
