Halloween can't get any NASTIER than with the Museum of Discovery and Science this year at their Animal Grossology event!  They have lined up some pretty gross interactive experiences for you and your family this year.  Taking learning to a fun and super disgusting level, the kids will LOVE it.  Below are the some of the scheduled topics:

Fire Prevention Day at MODS

The Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale will host an informative and fun event for Fire Prevention Day.  Kids and families will learn about different ways to make their homes and lives safer.  Take photos with local Fort Lauderdale Firefighters and kids can watch chemical reactions during the Kaboom show.  See the schedule below to help plan out your visit!

Kids Love and Family Expo

Join the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale for the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Kids Love & Family Expo.  This will be a Celebrity-Filled Extravaganza where family fun comes first!  Kids will be entertained with tons of fun and interactive activities, while parents can discover the latest and greatest in products and entertainment from 75 vendors & sponsors!

Great Balls of Fire

Join the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale for their exhibit kick-off on its opening weekend!  The Space Science Institute's National Center for Interactive Learning, with funding from the National Science Foundation and NASA, has developed a national traveling exhibition program called Great Balls of Fire: Comets, Asteroids, and Meteors.  This exhibit starts on October 3rd and will run thru January 2016!

Nature Explorers

Enjoy an educational and exploratory afternoon at the Sawgrass Nature Center & Hospital in Coral Springs every Wednesday at 1 PM. The Nature Explorers program is an adventure in nature with your child, exploring and learning more about our environment and the creatures that inhabit it. Each class has a different theme, featuring story time, nature observation, a live animal visit, and a craft to take home.

Sugar Sand Playdates

Join the staff at Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton for activities, giveaways, and the latest updates about upcoming programs and events. The Playdate will meet at the Carousel.  Come and enjoy the newly renovated science Playground.  Bring swimclothes, towel and sunscreen.   After the playdate you can head over to the small tot lot or over to the indoor Explorium for its exhibits.

Parents Night Out

Have an evening to yourselves while the children have some educational fun at the South Florida Science Museum in West Palm Beach. Kids can partake in hands-on science experiments and science related crafts. A planetarium show and pizza will be provided for the evening.  Kids can explore the exhibits and the aquarium areas of the museum.  The event runs for 4 hours which is perfect for a dinner and a movie nearby or just for some hours of peace at home.  Children need to pre-register.

Hurricane Expo

 South Florida residents are invited to participate in a free hurricane and disaster preparedness event to be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the War Memorial Auditorium, 800 NE 8th Street in Fort Lauderdale.

Hurricane Expo 2015 aims to raise public awareness about the need to be prepared and how to be prepared for hurricanes and other disasters. 

Participants will learn how to track storms, pack a family disaster kit, perform compression only CPR and prepare an emergency plan for their pets.

Delray Beach National Night Out
