Manatee Lagoon Talk
Learn about Manatees and Lake Worth Lagoon from one of our very own Manatee Masters. Manatee Masters guide visitors on a walking tour of Manatee Lagoon’s exhibits, providing insight about “all things manatee” and the Lake Worth Lagoon ecosystem. The tour can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Manatee Masters can adjust the length of time for private tours to accommodate large group schedules, but cannot provide that option on public tours. Private tours are offered for groups featuring 10 or more people (i.e., schools, camps, senior centers) Advance registration is required to ensure the availability of Manatee Masters guides. Please contact us with information necessary to accommodate your group. Public tours are offered for individuals or groups featuring less than 10 people (i.e., families, social clubs)
Advance registration, particularly during manatee season, is needed. Click on the calendar below and select the date that you are interested in to make a reservation. Join us on a walking tour of our visitor center and learn about manatee anatomy, physiology and the importance of GPS tracking devices, as well as the Lake Worth Lagoon. Meet at the manatee skeleton display at the entrance of the building. Make your plans to visit us today to learn more about these gentle giants and Lake Worth Lagoon.
Manatee Lagoon – An FPL Eco-Discovery Center, is a new, FREE Palm Beach County educational attraction with a dedicated area for viewing manatees up close. The 16,000-square-foot center features engaging, hands-on exhibits for visitors to learn all about these endangered and unique creatures as well as the natural wonders of the surrounding Lake Worth Lagoon. On cold winter days, the facility’s observation deck is the ideal spot to view manatee herds basking in the warm-water outflows from Florida Power & Light Company’s adjacent Riviera Beach Next Generation Clean Energy Center.
