Strikes for Life Tournament

Gift of Life is a bone marrow foundation that helps save lives by advocating for the donation of life-giving bone marrow.   The Strikes for Life Tournament will be held at Strikes bowling alley in Boca Raton.  Cash prizes, ranging from $60-$1000,  will be awarded to those coming in 1st-5th place!  There will be 3 squads taking place at 10, 12 and 2 during the day.  Registration begins at 9am.  Sign up online for a $60 donation/fee.  

Did you know?

  • Ten thousand patients are diagnosed each year with diseases treatable with a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant, yet only HALF receive one.
  • Only 30 PERCENT of patients will have a suitable donor in their family; the rest must rely on registries like Gift of Life to find their match.
  • It is reported that the lifetime probability of needing a stem cell transplant is ONE IN 200, much higher than originally thought.
  • Tissue typing involves a simple cheek swab, a process pioneered for Gift of Life for mass donor testing.
