Tropical Park (Miami)
Built in 1979 over an old horse track in Miami, Florida, Tropical Park sees over 1.5 million visitors per year. This park offers great amenities like bike riding, walking trails, and running and jogging. There is also fitness courts and a boxing center to keep in shape. There is a full-service equestrian center here, with stables for rent, vehicle hook ups, bathroom facilities and more. The center is rented to host rodeos, concerts, dog shows, and corporate events. It can hold up to 5,000 people and is a great place for families to visit.
Crandon Park (Key Biscayne)
Crandon Park is located in Miami-Dade County in Biscayne, Florida. There are few native Miamians who have not visited Crandon at some point in their lives. The site of the former Zoo, this park is not only HUGE but also is steeped with local history. With something for everyone, the park offers a beautiful beach, tennis and golf facilities and awesome ecological adventures. Take an eco-tour, or visit several of the outdoor learning centers and learn of some of South Florida’s unique wildlife and plant life. There is a preserve located in the park which gives visitors a look into the past of South Florida’s wilderness and animals and plants of the area. The two mile long beach is amazing and has been named one of the top 10 beaches in the nation for several years. There are concession stands, picnic areas and an amusement center with Carousel.
