Earth Day at the Miami Seaquarium

Join the Miami Seaquarium for four fun and educational events for Earth Day (April 22). Each event has a focus that will engage the public and teach about some environmental issues that are surrounding their local ecosystems. This 4 day event targets people of all ages and encourages them to be active and aware members of the community.

Gumbo Limbo Hatchling Release

Body

An exciting and unique program about sea turtles beginning in Gumbo Limbo’s classroom, followed by a trip to the beach to watch Gumbo Limbo Staff release baby sea turtles into the ocean!  Hatchling Releases are for all ages.  Minors under the age of 18 must attend with an adult.

Doors open 15 minutes before program start time.

Gumbo Limbo Turtle Walk

Body

A fun, educational night program about sea turtles beginning in Gumbo Limbo’s classroom, followed by an ecology walk along the beach… and the chance to see a nesting loggerhead sea turtle!  Children must be at least 8 years old for Turtle Walks.  Minors under the age of 18 must attend with an adult.

Thurs. nights, May 18, 25; and every Tues, Wed, and Thurs night from June 5-July 13 (no program July 4). 

Facts about Savannas State Park

"Facts about Savannas State Park (Live Animals Too!)" Are you looking for something different and interesting to do on your Sunday afternoons? ... something that is free and fun? Spend the best part of your Sunday afternoons at Manatee Lagoon and hear from a variety of interesting environmental personalities who happen to specialize in telling stories about really cool things - like the octopus population under the Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach or know why manatees really do matter.

Seminole Discovery Days

Join the  Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum for a special Earth Day “Water Warriors” celebration like no othe on April 22nd! Explore how water is life in the Seminole story with environmental activist, artist and videographer Samuel Tommie and with special "family fun" activities throughout the day. Discover the ins & outs of canoes, create water-inspired crafts, and enjoy traditional food sampling along with a classic BBQ!

Activities and refreshments included in Museum admission.

Annual Mystery Fest Key West

During the weekend’s series of panels, presentations and social events, Fest guests can score insider who-dunit know-how from a stellar line-up of high-profile mystery and suspense luminaries and true-crime experts.

Tamarac Bike Rodeo

The city of Tamarac will be hosting a Bike Rodeo on March 18, 2017 to promote bicycle safety.  Stop by and learn helpful bike riding safety tips, ride the obstacle course, bike races, bicycle safety inspections, and more. This event is free and open to all kids.

Palm Beach Dog Show

If you can't afford a trip to the Westminster Kennel Club show in New York City and just get so geeked out watching it on TV, then you should drive over to the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach for the Palm Beach All-Breed Dog Show.  Enjoy 2 days featuring over 1000 dogs!  Bring along your pup too (must be over 6 months old) to try their skills on the same course that the pros use.  Make sure your shots are up to date or your pup won't be allowed to participate.

Kids Bike Ride to Health and Safety

Pediatric Associates is proud to partner with Cox Media Group for the first annual Kids Bike Ride to Health and Safety in Hollywood, FL. The bike rodeo will educate parents and children about the safety aspects of riding a bicycle on streets and roads. Participants of all skill levels, from training wheels to advanced riders, will have the opportunity to practice and develop skills via obstacle and skill courses and training stations. Helmet and bicycle safety checks will also be available. The event is FREE and open to the public.
