Sheriff's Animal Farm

The Children's Animal Park, known as the Sheriff's Animal Farm, in Key West is located at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Headquarters building, 5501 College Road.  This wonderful non-profit was created over 20 years ago in an open area underneath the jail facility which was built on stilts.

The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory

The Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory is located in Key West on Duval street. See over 50 different butterfly species from all over the planet as well as 20+ exotic birds all in the comfort of a glass-enclosed habitat.  See the gorgeous flowering plants that attract these gorgeous flying friends and relax by the cascading waterfalls as you take in the colorful scene.   This indoor paradise will allow you access to observe these wonders with plenty of photo opportunities.

Key West Shipwreck Museum

Boondooks Bar & Grille in Ramrod Key also has the southernmost miniature golf course in the United States and the only miniature golf course in the Florida Keys. They offer daily food and drink specials and events like Bingo and Trivia as well as live entertainment--blues, rock, soul, reggae and more!  Boondocks can arrange special party packages and mini golf tournaments.  There is never a cover charge for the entertainment.

National Key Deer Refuge

The National Key Deer Refuge is a reserve established in order to protect and conserve Key deer as well as other wildlife within the Florida Keys area. Consisting of around 9,200 acres of untouched land such as freshwater wetlands, mangrove forests and pine Rockland forests, this refuge is a venue to be enjoyed and appreciated by the entire family.

The Turtle Hospital in Marathon, Florida, is a safe haven, rehab, and treatment center for endangered sea turtles that also works to improve the standard of living for all turtles through education and research programs. It is a small non-profit organization, and it depends on your support!

Crane Point Museum & Nature Center

Crane Point Museum and Nature Center is located in Marathon right on the Overseas highway.  Find some time to explore the peaceful environs of the Keys wile hiking one of the trails on Crane Point.  Explore the Hammock loop with signs helping you to identify the trees you will see on the path or the Butterfly Meadow trail with native plants that attract zebra longwings, gulf fritillaries and swallowtails.  Visit the historic Adderley House which is the oldest house in the Keys outside of Key West.
