Miami Seaquarium

The Miami Seaquarium is a world class oceanarium located on the island of Virginia Key in Biscayne Bay. It is one of the premier tourist attractions in the county of Miami Dade in South Florida. The Miami Seaquarium is the oldest oceanarium in the US and it houses a wide range of marine mammals. In addition it also has various sharks, sea turtles, birds, reptiles, manatees and of course, fish. There are daily presentations in the park as well as group programs and events for boy scouts. On average, it receives around 500,000 visitors every year.

The chief attraction of the Marine Seaquarium is Lolita, the oldest captive orca in the world. In fact, she is the only orca in the park. It arrived in the park in 1970 and has been a proud member of this park since then. Apart from viewing Lolita, the tourists can also enjoy the eight marine animal shows. Guests will fall in love with the bottlenose dolphins and enjoy the adventures of Salty the Sea Lion. The kids will love the stingray touch pool and the crocodile exhibit. There are dolphin interaction programs which allow the visitors to come close with these wonderful creatures. If you are adventurous enough then you can take an underwater walk among the tropical fishes during the Sea Trek Reef Encounter

The park remains open from 9:30 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening. The adult tickets are priced at  around $41.95 and children aged 3 to 9 years need to pay an admission fee of $31.95 (check prices with the attraction before you go). However, you can sometimes get the tickets for only $24.99 pp when you buy at least 4 tickets online. So if you are looking to save money then come here with your family and friends for an exciting encounter with the marine world. There can be additional fees or some restrictions for the animal encounters. You can get the full details on the Miami Seaquarium website.
